The Kandiyohi Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) annually participates in a wide variety of conservation outreach educational events in Kandiyohi County and beyond.

The Kandiyohi SWCD provides conservation outreach education to many of our areas local schools, providing both classroom training and field training.

The Kandiyohi SWCD is involved with multiple educational activities in our county that civically engages county residents. The SWCD has been a long time sponsor of the County Fair, Winter Agriculture Show and Earth Day at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center (PWELC).

The Kandiyohi Soil and Water Conservation District offers a $250 scholarship to a graduating high school senior, who is a resident of Kandiyohi County, planning to pursue a career in a Natural Resource and/or Conservation related field.   The recipient of our scholarship for 2017 is Mason Hall a senior from Willmar Senior High School.  

All students in 5th grade from Kandiyohi County are invited to partcipate in a poster contest each year.  The theme for the 2017 Poster Contest was "Healthy Soils Are Full Of Life". 

The top three winners were awarded a cash prize and all students that partcipated received a certificate from A &W in New London.  The winners for the poster contest in 2017 were First Place, Bree Mages (New London Spicer School), Second Place, Cloe Williams (New London Spicer School), Third Place, Ariana Medina (New London Spicer School).

We would like to thank the 5th Grade students from New London Spicer Schools and their teacher Laura Moleanaar for their partcipation in the Poster Contest.  Also we would like to thank A & W Restaurant in New London for the certificates they donated.
