Education


The Kandiyohi Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) annually participates in a wide variety of conservation outreach educational events in Kandiyohi County and beyond.

The Kandiyohi SWCD provides conservation outreach education to many of our areas local schools, providing both classroom training and field training.

The Kandiyohi SWCD is involved with multiple educational activities in our county that civically engages county residents. The SWCD has been a long time sponsor of the County Fair, Winter Agriculture Show and Earth Day at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center (PWELC).












The Kandiyohi Soil and Water Conservation District is offering a $300 scholarship to a graduating 2021 high school senior, who is a resident of Kandiyohi County, planning to pursue a career in a Natural Resource and/or Conservation related field.  
       
2021 Scholarship Winners:

Macy Elfering;
Macy is a graduating from Payneville High School this May and heading to Bemidji State Univeristy this fall to pursue a Wildlife Biology Degree. We look forward to seeing Macy excell in her future and continue to support the future of natural resources!



Collin Schlomann;

Collin is graduating from BOLD this May and continuing his education at University of Minnesota-Crookston for Natural Resources. We look forward to seeing Collin excell in his future and continue to support the future of natural resources!
